You are the one who uses confusing terminology. You can say this ointment or whatever is healing lips which means the same thing as managing lips. If you get frustrated whenever someone says you are managing your lips, then it means your lips must be healed. But they are only temporarily healed if you have to rely on something to keep them that way. No matter how much you like to disagree on this, you are just managing your lips at this point.
