skin peeling

This question is for those who are in the more advanced stages of the constant moisture theory...

when the skin peels is the skin underneath still red/raw? Was it in the beginning? Do you think it's coming off too early if it's red underneath and sensitive to touch? I dunno if the shower is causing it to come off too early for me or not, but when I touch the skin it like moves around and falls off...dunno what I should do, not get my lips wet in the shower and just keep it moisturized all the time? Just really really really don't want to set myself back, because I know when it turns red it sets an alarm off in the body to hurry and heal that area and the skin grows faster there....
