Re: Quick message for new posters

Well your right, healing requires the discovery and addressing of underlyind emotional trauma. But, the body has some positive feedback loops that cause stress to feed into more stress.

Initial stress in the mind can create conditions in the body that make stress in the mind to happen more frequently.

Oversimplified example: Stress causes one's metabolism to speed up - thereby the body uses up its energy stores quickly and dumps calcium, magnesium and zinc - all of which are needed to relax again. For most ppl the stress goes away, they eat some nutritional food, and rebuild their reserves. However, for some, if the stress is chronic the stores of certain vitamins and minerals can become so depleted the body literally does not have the building blocks needed to function well. The mind is likely at the root, but the body might need a boost to get itself back on track and out of the self reinforcing feedback loops.
