Re: A "Wormy" Apple A Day Keeps the Doctor Away!

James,
Candida Albicans is an antigen itself. It isn't a self part of us. It is a successful colonizer of the human tissues like many other microbes.
It is the result of its presence in a considerable amount for enough time what neutralizes the immune system. Moreover, Candida Albicans, one time it has increased in the intestines, induces T cell suppression releasing MANNAN, a yeast metabolite that affect our immune defenses, specially cell mediated immunity.
A chronic intestinal yeast overgrowth polarizes the immune system toward to a humoral response. CRC sufferers have an immune system overactive in a Th2 mode becoming them sensitive to anything that offends this department.

Hypo-sensitization shots with candida albicans extract ( when properly administered ) stimulates the immune system to attack candida. The treatment should be focused in immune restoration. It implies driving the yeast out of the tissues, immune stimulation, and restoration of the antagonistic bacterial flora in the case it has been affected.
To reverse the immune paralysis the inverse process must happen. You need to lower the amount of yeast cells under the multiplication rate for enough time to allow the immune system to reset. In the case of CRC, it is an acquired reversible tolerance that is different that an intrinsic immune defect present in CMC even when it may appear at any time during life.
