Re: Tomatos

Chuckout, good question, don't have a specific answer for you :( . Hope you don't mid me going off on a tangent while waiting and hoping somebody comes along with a good answer.

The word "allergy" itself seems to have long suffered from being mis-used and mis-understood by many many people. Whatever the truth may be on the subject, all allergies do not seem to be created equally. Some people seem to have predispostion (genes) to certain allergies, as though they were born with them. What we call allergies are examples of how, from one person to the next, each person's own immune system reacts and responds to being stimulated by substances. Some allergies happen after external exposure gets absorbed into the body, some happen from breathing or swallowing certain substances. There are some allergies that some people do not seem to be predisposed to at birth BUT over time they eventually develop them. Your experience with tomatoes may be an example (may be, I dunno, don't take my word for it). A relative of mine, in their 60s, had a severe reaction to tomatoes after a long life of consuming many seemingly without any clues of negative reaction; one day went into anaphylactic shock (hives, swollen wind pipe and turning blue) after a glass of fresh tomato juice.

I'm pretty sure I was born with certain allergies, like poison ivy, which also runs in several (but not all) members of the immediate family. I've also observed an odd characteristic of society at large. Anyone who has this allergy knows from first hand experience how much suffering can be caused by an otherwise harmless seeming plant, even when one makes great effort to avoid it! On the other hand, some people who've never had a problem with poison ivy seem to think that those people who do are somehow weak, inferior or just a big sissy, they may make fun of them, or do something even more stupid - rub their body in poison ivy while saying "see, I don't have any problem with poison ivy". I've seen/heard it said several places that ALL people will adversely react to poison ivy IF they are exposed to a big enough dose; "a big enough dose" can vary widely among people. I've also seen/heard several places of people who previously did not have problem with poison ivy who quickly developed one after showing off for somebody and rubbing their naked body all over it. The offending substance involved here is an oil from the plant's leaves, and I believe this oil is acidic. I was also told by a chiropractor years ago that one way to increase one's immunity to poison ivy is to pick and swallow a few young buds early in the spring time when the oil is not yet potent....... but I've never had the gall to try this.

To sort of get back on the general topic, Hulda Clark states in her writings on the Liver Flush that (and I paraphrase) cleansing the liver will improve one's problem with allergies. There seems to be some logic to this, especially for those kinds of allergies that people seem to develop over time. What else do you know of that seems to develop over time?...........yes, that's right, build up of toxins and gunk in your body and it's system of elimination. A clogged liver is just one example, a critical one, of how the eliminative system starts to deteriorate over time. End result? The body does not react and respond to substances and situations the way it is designed to.

Based on what we know (all of us, we the masses plus the intelligencia in the institutions of higher learning, like the medical field), allergies is just one topic - a complex one at that, that we do not really know much about, other than avoid thisNthat, take this steroid, have a nice life.
