Best way to handle starting too early on chelators? (Dental amalgam)

(Note to insomniacs, go for vitamin D3, magesium and zinc, with zinc for short-term use only, to avoid hyperthyroidisim. Read up on each to learn the best doses for yourself, and the best forms of each to buy. NOW-foods is acceptable and cheap for their quality, Swanson is also considerable. Make yourself the rehydration formula and/or go for bananas, avacado or boiled potatoes for potassium.)

Like almost any chronic insomnia sufferer, I've been very eager to change outmy Amalgam fillings, without yet having the full amount saved up yet need for the process. What i do have Is a basic stock of chelators, and like a kid in a candy store, my self control broke down after the months and I opened the ALA. And.. and I wanted to try and see what NAC in fizzingtablet form was like. Now I pay with the second night of un-sleep. the more confusing symptom is numbness in the skin, on lips and extremeties, as if my skin were cold... but double checking, the skin and body temperature is normal. This is strongest at night.

Bowel movements are solid but drop downwards in water. The helper minerals I have access to at home are selenium, zinc, magnesium citrate, iron, boron and
calcium, and a low potency multi vitamin. Helper nutrients available are spray-dried serum albumin (basic full aminocid supplement), milk thistle, l-tyrosin, b-complex 100..

Am tempted to go two weeks sans supplements besides gentle minerals. I had 1 gram spray-dried albumin about 20 hours ago and felt mostly normal, but if there is more I can do about it at the moment, I'd really appreciate guidance.
I can manage a purchase of calcium Bentonite in about 7 days.

Wanted to share how I've handled things so far, had a little success.
I have been using a variant of The Master Cleanse rehydration drink: //www.curezone.org/forums/fm.asp?i=383659

50 grams of organic unsulfered molasses
1 and 1/2 tablespoon lemon juice
1 teaspoon Sea Salt

I put that into a pitcher, poured a cup of boiled water into it, swirled until the salt and molasses dissolved, and then filled the rest with water- this was about 1 and 1/2 liters.

It has been what I have used today, and I was able to sleep last night after drinking a third of it. It tasted like V8 juice.

My bowel movements right now are dark green-brown (bowel contents moving too fast through the system), but that should mean the liver bile ducts are not blocked.

I clued in on potassium because of http://www.ithyroid.com/potassium.htm

information from the author's experience in needing potassium after starting magnesium supplementation.

I've been able to get ahold of my doctor and was able to get a prescription for the normal non-benzodiazipate 'Zopiclone' that has worked for me in the past at the irregular intervals of insomnia.

My suspicion is a heavy zinc deficiency thanks to 11 amalgams, and my plan is to purchase a local mackerel, either frozen or smoked, have it for the day's slow-nibble meal, and to use the zopiclone at the lowest possible dose to kick the sleep cycles into gear again. then again.. Mackerel is low on zinc, high in proper fatty acids. Oysters are the thing high on zinc, but don't have nearly the same amount of goodness for neural support.. I'll stick with the fish.

History of chelator usage: max 40-100 mg of ALA (It's in my raspberry jam) over 6 weeks, and 600 mg of NAC in bubbling tablet form in fourteen days. There's the data for you folk risking doing the same! 20 mg of NAC is the reccommended dosage per intake on what I expect is a daily basis for chelation therapy, which answers to what roughly is absorbable from one 100-gram avacado. Of which.. the avacado is still heavenly-tasting and containing all you need of one day's E-vitamin mix. (I am an avacado fan, they cost about a dollar and a half here for a big fat hass.)

*Cough* I'll try to update in replies or edits later on. All input is appreciated, barring the classic PEBKAC comments ;) (try wikipediaing the term)

The supplements list above is stuff I have tried and worked with over two years. The zinc and kelp arrived today, 200 mcg of Iodine and 30 mg of zinc have given a gentle feeling of relaxation. Days 2-4 of insomnia are the worst, with burning sensations here and there in the throat and down the chest. Insomnia after vitamin D3 and magnesium supplementation is much less of a frightening affair, with a little more ability to think clearly. After adding selenium to the mix, I experienced a delay in the light-level sensitive parts of my eyes (blindness when looking between contrasting light levels of a minor sort, like sun-watching glare).

Personally my point of view on Mercury is that it is nothing to be utterly afraid of. If it depletes certain elements, then those elements must be patiently replaced, according to information from folk with experience. Education and experience is the key to wisdom, and patience is won by perserverence in hardship.

Alright, enough waxing philisophical. Again, any pointers/comments are welcome.
