I was going to post this as a response to Anatomydoll's post in AF but I wanted to link this to other forums.

I want to qualify this post by first saying this is all very complicated stuff. You guys should have seen the stuff I tried when I was first trying to recover. I am saying this because I don't want to induce defensiveness and hope everyone here realizes that we are all working together toward a common goal of restored health.

For those thinking that Candida or Lyme are the source of their problems, I want you to check out this link regarding PTSD and these illnesses:

http://www.mentalhealthandillness.com/Articles/PosttraumaticStressDisorder.htm

It's pretty scientific but read the introduction and notice this part:

"Normally, we can peacefully co-exist with a multitude of microbes within us and in our environment. In a state of severe or chronic stress, there is a shift of allocation of resources towards dealing with the acute stressor at the expense of an immunosuppressive effect, which can result in an increased vulnerability to the pathogenic effect of microbes that might otherwise be non-threatening. This increased vulnerability may trigger a relapse of latent infections, resulting in a progression of symptoms from these infections."

===============================

These last few months I have made several posts trying to get you guys to consider that unprocessed trauma is the root cause. I'm sure it has been annoying to some of you.

Here is an analogy that it looks like from my perspective. It's like there is a fire in the kitchen and there is smoke everywhere, it's burning hot, the fire alarm is going off, etc. People come on here and make posts saying "How do I get rid of the smoke?" or "How do I stop this fire alarm?" or "It's so hot and I can't breath well. What do I do?" Meanwhile, I try to point out that none of that matters if you don't put out the fire. But it's difficult for you all to see the fire through the smoke and it continues to grow and become harder to put out.

I'm not saying that all problems with heavy metals, Lyme, Candida, hypothyroidism, general anxiety disorder, CFS, and so on are all cause by trauma but I am confident that most are and from I read from you guys, most of yours are as well.

Now, I haven't finished my recovery yet but I've been able to see the light for awhile. There is a great deal of misinformation about PTSD and I want to be able to connect with people to help them understand and recover at some point (hopefully soon). However, the scale of this thing is so huge that it will be hard enough for me to deal with people who are properly diagnosed. I don't want you guys to get left behind, but right now you are all out of reach..
