Just one additional thought, wanted to clarify about the relationship of moving the bowels and fiber. Some people think that the more fiber you get the more the bowels will move and this is not necessarily true. The main role of fiber is to add bulk and to make bowel movements well-formed but for people with constipation more fiber can cause more problems, so for you I would never recommend to supplement with fiber. Eating more carbohydrates will naturally give you more fiber but it is the nature of carbohydrates themselves to stimulate the movement of the bowels. For example eating fruit will increase the movement of the bowels not because they may contain fiber but because of the inherent properties of fruit to have a certain way that it stimulates the body. I thought I should make a note of this as you said your are eating vegetables for fiber. Many vegetables also have similar properties to fruit as to the way they stimulate the body to move the bowels but just eating vegetables is never enough to substitute for not eating fruit and carbohydrates. Of course if fruit gives you problems then you have to explore other foods. Every food has different properties, some produce more gas than others and you should look into this also. Meat and vegetable diets are basically for extremely healthy people or people that are freaks of nature and are genetically suited to thrive on this type of diet.
