John read my post I made about PTSD. It makes sense that your symptoms came after puberty since I remember reading that your mind/body wants to process trauma from earlier stages of life as you mature.
Responding to your original post, self-gratification does not cause AF. Don't worry about that.
Here is my suggestion for you:
Sit quietly with your eyes closed and put your awareness on the aching/tightness in your body. Wherever there is constriction just move your sense of feeling to it and try to call it up to the surface. Don't use force or tension but just let it happen at its own pace. If you can do this, you'll probably start to feel worse because you're bringing up suppressed symptoms. Let me know if you're able to do this and I'll give you a suggestion for what to do next.
