Picture of my Lips

People have been asking to see my lips so here is a picture. The picture actually makes them look worse I think. But anyways I have been leaving them alone for about 7-8 weeks now, and have seen great improvement over the last 2 weeks. I had EC for about 6 months before I started this method, and I am positive that I got it from biting my lips. My dermatologist has seen this condition before and said that it is indeed caused by repeated trauma, and advised my to apply vaseline and LEAVE THEM ALONE. Well the vaseline didnt really work, but I cant completely say that because at the time I was manually peeling them off (since I was at college). I take Omega-3 Fish Oil, Lysine, Vitamin C, Zinc, and a multivitamin and also exercise daily. I am currently taking Doxycycline because my lip biopsy showed traces of staph infection.

The scabs on my top and bottom lip have become clear and thinner. You can barely see the scab over the bottom lip, but you can see the sides of it getting ready to peel. My EC also affects the inside of my lips, which I think poses the hardest problem of healing them. I want to reccommend to people who are thinking about giving up this method, to stick with it. I wanted to on many occasions simply because I wasnt seeing any results, but the results will come. Just stick with it, eat healthy, and exercise.

And I am also not shy about getting them wet. In fact I rinse off my lips after every meal. When I shower, I just wait until I get out and wash my face in the sink where I can better control the water hitting my lips. Also I would recommend that everyone go to their dermatologists and get a lip biopsy, culture, blood workup and patch testing/allergy testing. If you really want to cure this dont sit around feeling bad for yourself. Start getting testing and crossing possible causes off the list.
