I recently finished my first Water Fast for 5 days. I was recently diagnosed with coronary artery disease and want to fast to remove plaque. I limited my food to raw fruits, veggies and juice tapering them off before the actual fast.(I don't eat meat or dairy). I felt quite well until I did some normal leg lift exercises and then had such bad pain in legs and hips I couldn't sleep and finally had to take ibuprofen which worked, but diminished the fast. I want to continue with more fasts, but am concerned about health warnings. Is this pain normal and to be expected? I did drink some sparkling water and wondered if that could cause problems.
