Re: Water Fasting for 13 days
Hi Lilli, I read somewhere recently, that the pancreas can only deal with two teaspoons of honey a day, before being stressed by this--(once considers coke drinkers!!...) leading to pre-insulin resistance; the sense being, it is a far more concentrated
Sugar than that found in tree fruits, say. What are your thoughts on this? I've been loving raw honey the last few years. 4 tsp. a day sounds like a lot, though! This most recent
Water Fast I undertook, which I only was able to do for 7 days, just timing-wise, I "soft-fasted" days one-3 with two cups of herb tea with honey--which seemed absolutely wonderful.
Red clover, and weak organic green. mmm. But, I found the switch-over to plain water quite a challenge. I was tremendously 'hungry' for the whole seven days. Interesting.
It was my least favourite water fast. Harder than the 29 days...not altogether sure why. One idea though:
I lost a little belly fat on this one--and that had been the last to go--and with it, I felt blech: as if there were some pretty rough toxins/chemicals stored there--makes a lot of sense to me.
I would not want to do it again. That said, I did not break on a downswing--though it took great powers of mind to *push* breaking. I totally relished a homemade blueberry- banana birthday 'ice cream'.
