Re: Struggling with Weight Loss
Well, what else are you using to track your progress? If you're doing weights and cardio, there's a good chance you're losing fat and gaining muscle. With that, you'll not lose weight but perhaps have a lower body fat percentage, clothes fit better, measurements improving, etc.
I know it's more satisfying to see the scale go down though so...
How often do you eat? Do you keep your metabolism up?
If you think fasting will help, I would suggest starting with juice, that way you still get SOME calories and nutrients and sustenance, and some sort of satiety when you're hungry.
Spend some time researching how you'd like to do it, decide on how you'd like to start, whether it's jumping right in, starting with a couple juice meal replacements a day, etc.
Once you've detoxed a little, your body will crave healthy foods and it will be easy to kickstart your metabolism again with good weight loss foods like lentil soup, salads (my fav dressing lemon juice/avocado/sunflower seeds), fruit salad, etc.
I once lost about 70 lbs in a very short amount of time. I did a few juice fasts, 7 days, 21 days, etc but I lost the most weight once I started eating again because I was CLEAN! I felt great, my body was clean on the INSIDE and I had the energy and motivation to exercise more and eat right and not focus on the weight loss...of course that's when it all really falls off. I had no idea how thin I'd gotten until I stepped on the scale when my two female roommates wanted to compare weights and saw it at 104 lbs.
Juice fasting is WONDERFUL.
I'm on one right now because 6 years later I gained it all back (don't let that discourage you, I made bad choices and went through really dark periods as a result.) We'll get there :)
