it actually works for me to use the same yogurt as a new starter for three times, the taste is not so good if used more times

alternatively you can also use a good quality organic yogurt as a starter but I found out it influences the taste of the yogurt so I really prefer to "reuse" my home-made yogurt and then use the new starter
