This is from Ann Louise's book. Explains what I just went through
"It may seem surprising, but many people who have copper overload don’t initially test high in copper on tissue analysis. Their metabolisms are so depressed that the copper is tightly stored in tissues; it hasn’t yet been released into circulation and deposited in the hair. Yet if they begin treatment for copper overload, eating a low-copper, high-zinc diet and taking supplements to boost the metabolism, copper will be mobilized from storage depots and show up in high amounts on tissue analysis conducted after several months. Because of copper’s tendency to lurk undetected in tissues, practitioners need to look at other readings that can signal copper overload before it presents itself. Probably the best way to evaluate true copper status is by looking not only at an individual’s copper level but also at his or her zinc-tocopper ratio."
