I have noticed the same things as you did.
The problem is, these "dumb" people notice it too.
I found that birds of one feather flock together when it comes to drugs of choice. The first nice step is to try to convince you to try their drug, so that you'll be in the same vibration as they are. Think heroin addicts for example, always ready to give you a first dose for free, even if they are not selling it. Or us iodiners who try to convince others, for their own good we think, yes, but there is that under the radar desire to make others similar to us.
You notice they are dumb, but they notice you are glowing.
Your body does not radiate poison as theirs do.

The next step is rejection. Because they feel fear, their mind is not so clear, they don't know why we are different. It is a kind of racism. But it is very real. Sometimes I feel there are very few real people walking about. Most of the others are zombies. I try to keep a low profile more and more.
Even dogs notice me now!!!! Some of them only, because they are poisoning the dogs too!

The nice part is, when you can spot a really bright one, you"ll find he/she/dog is really relieved to have found a new friend.
New friends = new life.
