So eating fruits, honey, etc. (the "good" sugars) as part of a cancer patient's regular diet is fine as long as you don't eat too much of them?

Honey is hardly a good sugar.  It is actually quite high in several sugars including sucrose ("table sugar"). 

And there is more to that since there are several factors that influence the uptake and utilization of sugars.  For example, a high fiber (also a form of sugar) will slow the absorption of simpler sugars like glucose.

Because I think Dr. Robert O. Young - I guess you've heard of him - recommends total elimination of sugar of any source from a cancer patient's diet. That's really extreme, huh! The cancer patient might die of boredom instead. :-)

It would be impossible to totally eliminate sugars from the diet.  Even beef has naturally occurring sugars in it.  And even if there were some way to totally eliminate sugars from the diet the body would still generate its own glucose through gluconeogenesis.  This is why I said earlier that simply eliminating sugars from the diet will not cure cancer.
