Yes and I think that's a myth. Otherwise no diabetic could beat cancer and that's clearly a falsehood. Many have beat cancer.
Actually it is not a myth. As I pointed out earlier though most diabetics keep their diabetes under control by diet, medication, herbs and exercise. If they did not keep the diabetes under control then we would see a lot more cases of diabetic coma than we would see cancer in diabetic patients.
Also keep in mind that inhibiting glucose is only one means of dealing with cancer. Diabetics with cancer can still target other aspects of cancer such as mitosis or angiogenesis inhibition to target their cancers. Therefore, they can still overcome cancer even if the cancer is being fed by excessive glucose.
I'm not saying sugar causes cancer. It does not. It just exacerbates cancer.
It is a VIRUS that causes cancer.
Viruses are the most common causes of cancer. There are less common causes such as bacteria, fungal toxins, radiation and in extremely rare cases parasites.
If we are going to believe sugar makes cancer worse, then cinnamon must be the cure......
Not necessarily. As I pointed out earlier simply lowering blood sugar somewhat is not going to cure cancer since the body responds to drops in glucose by simply making more glucose.
Lowering blood sugar though can slow cancer growth as the studies I posted show, and there is a secondary benefit to cinnamon. Cinnamon is also high in antioxidants that can help counter the reactive oxygen species (ROS) associated with cancer cells.
I would be careful to believe everything Mercola believes. He is known by many in the medical field to be a fear mongering scam artist.
That is pretty much the opinion I have of Mecola lately. I used to have more respect for him, but seems lately he is just going with whichever way the wind chooses to blow rather than to rely on real research and common sense.
Plenty of articles on the other side of the fence.

The first link simply states the same exact words as the second link. And the only study I saw them refer to only looked at one type of cancer and was conductred from a participant questioneer, not a direct study on cancer cells.
There are other sources showing that sugar does in fact increase cancer cell growth. Here is one article discussing a study reported in the journal Cancer Research:

Here is another study discussing glucose reduction diets or glucose use inhibition reducing cancer growth:

"Malignant cells are known to have accelerated metabolism, high glucose requirements, and increased glucose uptake."
http://cancerres.aacrjournals.org/content/70/15/6368.abstract
"Here, we report that fructose provides an alternative substrate to induce pancreatic cancer cell proliferation. Importantly, fructose and glucose metabolism are quite different; in comparison with glucose, fructose induces thiamine-dependent transketolase flux and is preferentially metabolized via the nonoxidative pentose phosphate pathway to synthesize nucleic acids and increase uric acid production. These findings show that cancer cells can readily metabolize fructose to increase proliferation. They have major significance for cancer patients given dietary refined fructose consumption, and indicate that efforts to reduce refined fructose intake or inhibit fructose-mediated actions may disrupt cancer growth. I don't believe it helps anything, but I don't think it feeds or causes cancer. If your applying the theory that sugar effects insulin and feeds cancer then all diabetics with cancer would be dying from it. This is not the case at all.
Again, cancer cells do utilize much higher levels of glucose than normal cells. This has been known by medicine for a very long time. It is also part of the basis behind the positron emission tomography (PET) scan for cancer.
Elevated blood sugar does not cause the cancer, but it can definitely promote the growth of cancer. One of the reasons we do not see diabetics having greater issues is that most diabetics keep their diabetes under control.
