I don't believe it helps anything, but I don't think it feeds or causes cancer. If your applying the theory that sugar effects insulin and feeds cancer then all diabetics with cancer would be dying from it. This is not the case at all.
Again, cancer cells do utilize much higher levels of glucose than normal cells. This has been known by medicine for a very long time. It is also part of the basis behind the positron emission tomography (PET) scan for cancer.
Elevated blood sugar does not cause the cancer, but it can definitely promote the growth of cancer. One of the reasons we do not see diabetics having greater issues is that most diabetics keep their diabetes under control.
