Re: My night of hell

Hi Paulette,

So sorry to hear about what you are experiencing. I use to have problems with feelings of low blood Sugar and still do, but it has improved a lot. The solution for me has been to eat a moderate to large amount of carbs with each meal. Yes, the opposite of what it is recommended by many people. My doctor (an MD) says that it is a misconception that people with hypoglycemia should avoid carbs. What they should be doing is eating a good amount of carbs along with protein and fats at each meal.

Also, may I ask what your BMI is? If I remember correctly from reading previous posts, you mentioned that you exercised frequently and under-ate in the past. I think a lot of people with 'AF' did this. If underweight, its really important to try to increase your weight by eating more food and not limiting carbs (if you can tolerate it). I think people who are underweight and getting feelings of hypoglycemia should not be eating the low carb diet recommended out there.

If you are just eating protein and veggies with small amounts of carbs - you most likely are not getting enough calories.
