Re: What to fix first: metals or infections? Thiol-sensitive ??

You seem to be on the right track.

petluvr10 made many good points. I'll add or reinforce a few.

The folks at Livingnetworks know Cutler well. I've found them to be helpful and I have my hair test posted there.

Cutler has an old yahoo post with many tips for dealing with candida. A copy of it is in the Files of the yahoo Frequent Dose Chelation group. There is also a file containing contact information for doctors/practitioners who have supported members with the Cutler Protocol. If you are in the Pacific Northwest, eastern PA, western PA, and central CA, you are in luck. I'd also feel safe recommending Amy Holmes in LA.

DMPS is usually much better tolerated than DMSA when yeast is a major problem. Unfortunatly it requires a doctor script--not easy to get. Sometimes ALA alone works okay.

It is quite common for folks to not tolerate sulfur/thiol foods. Hg messes up the production of cysteine from methionine, etc. It is very complex. These folks often have a very restricted diet. Check Cutler book, Amalgam Illness for recommendations. Consider methyl donors, Vit C (frequently), glutamine, glycine, Mo, not low Fe.

I assume you are not referring to Lyme or some other infection that requires abx. Cutler's recommendations there are different.

Good luck, there is rarely a quick fix. You manage it as best as you can while you chelate to address the underlyin problems.

Best regards,

Joe
