Humans have always been infested with parasites, they developed over time, just as we did, the same parasites that we have are also found in remains from thousands of years ago. Most groups of people had ways of killing off parasites up until the 1900's using a variety of herbs, sulfur and molasses was a popular vermifuge. When we had developed better sewers and lived in more sanitary conditions people in the western world no longer did these treatments for parasites and depended on medical Science to cure problems caused by parasites. Also people have stopped cooking all their food and eat much more undercooked meat and fish increasing our exposure. Added to this we all now carry a high level of pollutants that add to the problems parasites cause. Although there are natural pollutants what we modern people carry are mostly industrial pollutants and are detrimental to our health. I read that now all water carries industrial pollutants, a very different situation then thousands of years ago.
