Re: Shroom, Mendomaid ??Re: Metametrix test results
Hi. The lab will receive the stool, centrifuge it, and the eggs will rise to the surface where they are collected and examined for morphology. The problem is, the technician will unlikely make an accurate diagnosis, and will opt to claim "ova" present. They might identify the type of parasite, but it is doubtful, since they are legally committed at that point.
As for serology testing? Good luck with that one. They will claim the reagents have to be special order and the expense will be through the roof.
Truth is, immunoblot tests are very available and easy to do, and cheap. They just will not do it.
You may be able to find kits on-line to do it yourself.
The results are not always accurate this way, without microscopic examination, because the antigens could be transient and sourced from food.
Best thing is an experienced microbiologist, who is referred from your doctor (it's a long-shot). Shroom
