Ok, now I'm going to take some time and respond. This thread is very interesting. First, I would like to say that your question was not stupid. Why would I expect you to be read up on the latest beliefs of a false teacher and prophet? Time is better spent studying the true Word of God and in seeking the real God. Time is better spent drawing near to the true living God. When we know the truth, and are experiencing a personal relationship with the real God that enjoys communion with Him and can recognize His voice when He speaks to us, we will recognize the phony when he comes along. That is what is important. We will then know to run in the other direction when he comes our way.  Of course, there is nothing wrong with studying  their beliefs if you have the time. I have studied a little on it myself. I became interested in Harold Camping when a lady told me the end of the world was going to happen on 05/21/2011.  She was trying to get me saved. I knew she was involved in something very false. I was frustrated because I was at work and could not respond. I pray the Lord will redirect her zeal with the truth. I pray the Lord will send true workers in her path. She must be devastated about now.

Yes, from what I gathered, the false group thought that they were going to be raptured at 6 PM and the tribulation would begin for the rest of us. You asked, "Why would Lyn Benedetto have been afraid of the tribulation then?"  I asked myself the same question. She must not have had the assurance that she was saved.  Her spirit must not have beared witness with His Spirit that she was a child of God. She must not have been filled with the joy of the Lord. She must not have been in communion with the real God.  She did not have the peace of God which passeth all understanding to keep her heart and mind through Christ Jesus.  She had no faith in God, therefore,  she was scared to death as she believed the lie.  Her false teacher lead her astray. I pray she finds the truth. I pray she finds the real God.
