The intracellular idea might explain why, when my candida overgrowth was at its worst, I used to be able to actually smell a yeast-like odor emanating from my skin. Oblivious as I was at the time, I used to think the odor was something external and would try scrubbing the smell off in the shower (which of course never worked for long). The only other explanation for the yeast smell would be that the candida was in my blood at the time.

Anyway, I have been able to completely eliminate the odor since then. So hopefully that is a sign that it is possible to get candida out of cells where it was once entrenched.
