In one of Ghent and Eskin's articles, they found that the excess fluid in fibrocystic breast disease contained extra potassium.
I, and maybe they, didn't know what to make of this.
Does anybody know if the fluid in all cysts has extra potassium? It is it some compensation mechanism? Does the potassium have a purpose? Permeating the cells? Anyone?
Or is potassium a toxic byproduct of the fibrocystic pathology?
