Re: Any Ideas On How To Cure or Treat Autoimmune Disease?
I was in your shoes, or a bit worse, and I cured myself, so the most important thing to know is that it is possible to get out of that hell. The only difference is that I lived with my condition for decades, being diagnosed with all kinds of allergies and so on... and told that there was nothing that could be done. Then I studied all I could for about 10 years and then I cured myself. Based on that I would say - start studying on your own, everything that seems related to your condition. The best source for me were scientific studies which can often be found on pubmed, or at least quoted on some other sites; sometimes even a short abstract gives you plenty of info.
The most important things I have learned:
1. Do not look for that "miracle" supplement or cure before you understand your condition. This takes studying. You have to learn about your condition more then doctors. Just hoping that you will find that one thing and get it right can take a lifetime and gives no lasting results.
2. See if you can make small improvements in obvious ways: for you, I would start with Atomidine, as you obviously need iodine. All other
Iodine supplements are inferior to Atomidine. Thyroid gets exhausted after long infections and its hormone production goes down; it also tends to get larger to be able to absorb more iodine, which you probably don't have in your food.
Iodine is a must - without it we die. But it can also be toxic. Read up what
Edgar Cayce said about it, it is the best info about it.
The other obvious thing would be change in food: avoiding sweets and carbohydrates - that means stick to meat and (mostly green) vegetables (but not root vegetables). All infections, except viruses, need glucose to make progress; by eating low GI foods (Glycemic index), you will give yourself enough to live, but will slow down the infection. Don't be fooled when you start feeling better: the infection is just waiting for "better times".
3. If taking supplements is making your condition worse, that probably means that you have an infection which your body is trying to fight and every supplement you take helps it, which then comes to you as worsening of symptoms. If you listen to your body very carefully, you will learn to recognize the difference between symptoms due to getting better, and symptoms due to infection getting worse. Those which are so called "die-off" symptoms are usually a little less harsh then those from infection getting worse, and after they go away you tend to feel better. One thing that almost always happens when you are on the right track is improvement in your sleep - either you sleep better, or longer, or fall asleep easier, or start having dreams during sleep. The only time that I know of that symptoms of getting better are much worse then when a person is just sick, is Herxheimer reaction from Syphilis and other spirochetes (e.g. Lyme or H. pylori).
4. Canker sores (if you mean those that appaer on the inside of your mouth, such as inside of cheeks, or close to the mouth, rubbing against your teeth and such) are a proof that your immune system was/is exhausted. They are usually caused by candida. You probably have an overgrowth of Candida, which happened due to something else. In the best case, because you were taking too many
Antibiotics ; in the worst case, you have another fungal infection which is masked by Candida.
I find that mostly bacterial infections tend to make one feel worse when taking supplements; for instance that would happen with Lyme disease, or some other spirochete.
However, you would need to write a book here about your health for anyone to get a good shot at narrowing it down. You'd have to write all about your locations where you lived, where you travelled, your sexua| habits (how many partners and so on), your parents health, your job, your daily routine, your first symptoms, your childhood illnesses, your typical food, anything that comes to mind but that seems unimportant to you such as tick bites, strange rashes, bruises, bumps, skin flaking, warts, and so on.
Viruses are usually not the problem; if they are, usually you have either
Chronic-Fatigue-Syndrome (chronic fatigue), or even more frequently - herpes (on your face, or in genital area such as genital warts). Viruses either cause trouble or nothing at all. Bacteria, parasites, and fungi on the other hand, can cause great distress and perfectly mask themselves from all kinds of tests and even immune attack. Since you live in the rural area,
parasites are one thing to think about; even if they are not the root cause, you are a good candidate for having them, just because of where you live.
One more thing: any tests you perform only has value if it is positive; negative tests only mean that they did not detect whatever they were looking for, or were wrongly interpreted, but they cannot be used to exclude anything. Usually a negative test result really means that you don't have whatever you were testing for, but sometimes it may be dangerously misleading.
Best of luck!
