More Iodine requires more magnesium???

Ok, I have been meaning to ask this for awhile.

a few months into my Iodine journey, I started noticing muscle cramping after taking my Iodine dose. It would pass in an hour or so, but this has me curious.

We all preach the necessity of magnesium as a companion, but is it clear why the magnesium???? I feel like I should know this but I don't.
And I mean specifically does more Iodine require more magnesium?

My body says yes, especially now since I am able to take more magnesium per day. After I killed off C. Difficile in my gut my magnesium tolerance went from 50mg/day up to about 300-400mg/day. Then after I took IP6 for a few days, it went up to about 500-700mg/day.

Now my ND is telling me that too much Mag without Calcium will strip the bones of mag........
I am in a bind with that one because if I take a bit of Calcium I get so tight in my neck i get a headache within one day....say about 400mg of Calcium
Crazy!!!!

ahhhhh, this is why I am still working with my liver and getting metals out, my mineral transport is still screwed up......
