Re: Alkalinity

Acid/alkaline balance is soooo complicated. The body has many mechanisms in place to maintain pH.

it's similar to how our body has its own mechanisms in place to maintain proper body temperature.

Nature put these things in place to keep us alive.

When we take antacids and other alkaline substances, IMO we're throwing in a monkey wrench and crippling the system our body has put in place to regulate pH.

And the body has different pH in different parts. The stomach becomes acidic when it produces HCl to digest meat. Our saliva is alkaline, which is needed for the enzymes that break down carbohydrates.

The best acid/alkaline balancer is our own body, IMO.
