There is not a singular cause of cancer.  But it is well known in medicine that viruses play a role in a very large percentage of cancers.  I have posted tons of evidence on this, but last I posted it I got in to bog trouble with the Cancer Support forum  moderator since he did not want to accept the evidence since it contradicted some claims he made about a "cancer therapy" he promotes.

Other known causes include bacteria, fungal toxins,  parasites (extremely rare), radiation and carcinogens.

But again viruses are responsible for the vast majority of cancers.  I could explain this in detail but it would take a lot of explaining.  But this has been verified primarily in research done it Europe.  It is the viral link to cancers that also leads to chemo resistance in some cancers.
