Hi -
I've been doing IV chelation push of EDTA and DMPS for the past 8 months- I got a round of each every 2 weeks. The only side effects that I had in the beginning was that it made me really tired! But after about 2 months even that subsided. It still took a long time to get the metals out (both mercury and lead). At one point in January I was frustrated it was taking so long so my doctor added in oral chelation on the off weeks and that made me turn the corner. I went from blood level of 21 to 3 for mercury. I have now switched to oral chelation only, just to get the rest out. I really had no ill effects from an IV push- in fact I just got better after each round. I am a totally different person than I was a year ago- it really worked well for me.
The only strange effect of getting rid of the mercury was that my candida came back (not near as severe as before but frustrating nonetheless bc I thought it was under control) my dr. says some believe that mercury has a protective effect on the body against the ravages of candida- they have some kind of weird symbiotic relationship. So now I need to deal with that but it should be easier now that the metals are practically gone.
