Got, and ate, some.
Yoiks!
Dh bought some at the bulk food store and it cost about CA$9!!!!!
I believe it is April 1st that the big chain stores will raise all food prices 5%.
(In reality, I think they are already at it, or trying to establish the highest price 'platform' possible. The advertising schemes I'm seeing on TV are fantastic. And, everyone is going into 'umberella' companies, product sharing, and "we'll find your best deal", etc. - all "give us your email address", of course.)
However, we cooked about a cupful and I ate it with butter and veggies for supper, and again for breakfast.
Tastes good and satisfies (and sticks to one's ribs) very well.
But, I'm going to have a little talk with the bulk food store manager. I understand business and grocery business and I want to know who is getting the money.
Is it the grower, the shipper, the wholesalers, or the retailer?
If I can't make a difference by asking pointed questions, or find a cheaper source, I'll buy some and grow it...maybe free.
:)
There are ways.
First I have to see if it sprouts. If it doesn't, I'll get my money back.
If food prices go through the roof, as some people predict, we must be certain that the poor don't go hungry. Period!
