and are you sure that it was not just die off .. Sugar causes die off .. to when you eat it.. because the anti fungals you are taking kills it and causes die off symptoms that may not be pleasant..

while the honey not only acts like your own anti fungals.. but then you have the anti fungals at work at the same time.. how can you tell the difference ?
