Re: Oh God, can this be right?

Yes, most doctors are big pharma trained drug pushers who are more interested in fleecing the patient than in getting them well ... that means lots of tests, scans, probes, referrals, x-rays, and lots of DRUGS. When they say they are PRACTICING medicine they aren't kidding. They have a $$$$$$ agenda.

For the most part this is true.  I have met very few doctors that were in medicine because they wanted to help people.  Most are in it for the money.  And a person soley in it for the money should not be in medicine to begin with.

Also wanted to point out all the conflicts of interest.  For example, many doctors are partners in scanning centers that do X-rays, MRIs, CT scans, etc.  So they will prescribe scans whether or not you need them because they need to pay off those multi-million dollar machines and to make a profit.  And ever notice how when you call a doctor in an emergency that they say they will meet you at a specific hospital?  Hospitals give doctors incentives to refer patients to that hospital.  So the hospitals give the doctors, free office space, etc.  There is also a similar conflict of interest with pharmaceutical companies.  The pharmaceutical companies give gifts to doctors such as trips and TVs to prescribe their drugs.  For example, doctors are given 10,000 frequent flyer points for every patient they put on Inderal.
