Re: Question about DMSA protocol
Chelation is hard on the body in many ways. Obviously you are trying to remove a toxin and although this is good for your health in the long run, it does do damage while you are moving metals. I think it is important to let the body heal fully between rounds.
It's normal to feel awful after a round, this is (put simply) because moving mercury is harmful to your body.. The benefit of longer rounds is that the redistribution that happens at the end of a round is lessened (because in theory you won't have to do as many rounds) Basically you need to find a balance.
The ALA moves mercury from cells into the bloodstream, the DMSA helps move it from the bloodstream and out of you. Maybe you could do the DMSA for a bit longer than ALA to to remove that which has been 'stirred up' I personally wouldn't want to take ALA for very long periods though because it is all stress for the cells, particularly the brain. Also it reduces copper excretion like i said.
All this depends on how sick you were to start too....
Would you mind saying what doses you are taking/ supplements etc?
