Re: Best Magnesium compound?
I going to wrap-up this conversation for the moment but I will finish by answering your questions.
Magnesium appears to be a valuable alternative but milder alternative to magnesium sulphate for some people but there are others that don't take either. It may be wise to have some handy as first-aid if stones become temporarily stuck in transit. If you've ever suffered biliary colic you will understand this statement.
I am not going to hypothesise on the olive oil/acid juice mix because a 50:50 mix works just fine. The potion needs to be very acid to make the transit from the stomach to the duodenum as fast as possible otherwise the stomach would churn. This churning would slow down the rate of transit. The acid content is then neutralised by a pouring of bicarbonate salts from the liver, which is part of the flushing process.
It is the
Sugar content of the potion that is detected as a carbohydrate and may slow its progress. I am sorry that I haven’t made this clear. That is why orange juice isn't very successful, although I bet there is always be someone who finds it is. Lemon juice has very little
Sugar and limes even less so I guess limes would be even better, although rather expensive where I live.
