Re: censorship on internet forums.
Tony go reread the post you recently made in the "Webmaster Debate" forum.

What would you say the tone of this post is?
When posts like this were made about moderating or anyone else they were nuked or edited. In your case because it steps in line with the official "position" it is seen as a glory post.
The mocking/step in line, with the status quo, style post just happens to be in line with a questionable mod that has shown bias and also the support she received by the owner.
From where I sit this is not a very critical eye and in fact seems very biased.
As far as the money agenda, I won;t go into great details here. I believe a person who as their own forum was IP banned for suggesting this as well some years ago with much evidence to back it up at the time. At that time it was said this was a volunteer site and it was continually hinted that it was non profit however the facts did not line up with this. It was shown at that time that the potential revenue far outweighed the costs of running the site. It actually showed a very substantial profit engine.
This is where it gets interesting...
Demonstrating this with backed up facts and figures had the post removed and the poster was IP banned. In fact this was the first IP banning in Curezone's history. This shows quite a sensitivity to the issue doesn't it. ;-)
Curezones footprint is very large on google. The revenue is self generated due to this. It could grow even more with some of the suggestions that you have given and many more with other marketing, but perhaps a more hands off perpetual revenue generation has been settled for.
Controversy tends to have people getting hooked into coming back for more. Hits = revenue.
I've kept this post rather general. If you want to investigate what I am laying out on your own, please do so. You may be surprised at what you uncover.
Try to remain neutral and things begin to look very different. ;-)
