Re: Struggling with Leaky Gut

You are doing every well. Definitely leaky gut and I would suspect some yeast overgrowth as a factor but doesnt necessarily have to be. How many mgs of Diflucan and for how long are you taking it? Have you had a yeast culture or a stool test?

Nexium. Why are you on it? Or why does the doctor think you need this? If you really study on this issue, acid reducer drugs are the 2nd most prescribed (and now its OTC) drug aside from Prozac. This is complete negligence (both on information and care) by the conventional medical establishment. If you truly study acid reflux, VERY few people actually have a diagnosis of hyperchlorhydria (problem where the stomach makes too much acid).

If acid reflux is the problem, acid reflux is not "too much stomach acid". it's f***in ridiculous doctors think that. Even by their standards and with tools and measurements you can easily tell that it is not that the pH is lower or that there is "more acid". It is due to 2 big reasons: 1) lower stomach acid. You have low acid acid due to whatever health issues and that causes the stomach to overcompensate and produce indigestion and causes acid to come back up
2) food allergies . not a traditional IgE mediated reaction but food that does not "sit properly", which is also known as IgG food allergies or sensitivies, cause inflammation. This happens in the small intestine and the upper intestines and it causes acid from the stomach to come up. A study using radioactive chicken showed that people who were "allergic" or sensitive to that food, would have acid reflux in response to the food. This happens quite often with dairy as well.
For me, dairy and whey were big factors in my acid reflux. I was on nexium for many months, it screwed me up BAD.

I really dont have the time to write everything about it but nexium and other proton pump inhibitors work by literally blocking the h2 receptors in the stomach. It turns the stomach "off". It's like this. the fact that there is smoke coming from your engine doesnt mean you disable the engine. it means you find out what causes the engine to react that way and stop it or treat it (better oil, etc.) The stomach is the first line of defense and when you neutralize and turn off that acid, not only are you suspectible to all kinds of dysbiotic overgrowths in the gut, but you CAUSE inflammation.

Less stomach acid = less food digested = more inflammation in the gut.

I would try lemon juice, HCL tablets or some people say apple cidar vinegar before or after a meal to help boost the stomach acid but if its not a big problem, i'd cut that nexium out. If you have an ULCER in your stomach, might be a little bit different of an approach.

How is the diflucan working out for you? Do you experience any "die off"? Have you ever tested your SIgA (fecal, salivary,)?
