Re: Mirena hell: does it cause stress/urge incontinence?

Totally possible. If you search "Mirena" and "Interstitial Cystitis" you will come up with a few results in this forum. It doesn't sound like what you're dealing with (your version is much more mild) but progesterone/progestin is known to irritate the bladder and relax the urethra. This is one of the reasons pregnant women are more prone to uti's and bladder infections.

I suffered from uti's while I had the mirena (only had one in my life before insertion then proceeded to have one every month for a long time), which stopped when I had it removed.

Unfortunately, because I was having a really hard time with the "crash" post-mirena, I started using progesterone cream, which funnily enough, cleared up my crash symptoms (mostly dry eye, insomnia, anxiety, and acid reflux)but left me with a foggy brain and bladder problems AGAIN. Now I have some urge incontinence, recurrent uti's, and major bladder/urethra irritation, which was diagnosed as possible IC -- but has been getting better over time (yay!) hang in there, I suspect it will clear up for you!
