Re: Alert moderators by clicking on the alert button!

I have done this several times, when there have been posts that are particularly nasty. Nothing is done, and the nastiness continues. It would be nice to know that someone is actually seeing these alerts, as there is no response one way or another when I have alerted the moderator in the Abortion Debate forum. Perhaps an acknowledgement to the person that alerted the moderator could be given, even if the moderator does not act on the alert.

Those that break the TOS and continue the name calling, bad language, and abuse of other posters, just carry on doing it.

I have wondered then if there are any moderators that receive these alerts.

I don't want to see genuine information censored, but this name calling and abuse is not information, it is attacking an individual person.

Something I have noticed is, where there is no moderation of this behaviour, the forums end up being one or two people posting, with no discussion, because others don't want to be attacked personally, just for giving a differing opinion. The Politics Forum is a good example of this. There is no debate, just one view.
