Re: why us and not others
This is an interesting idea. I also wonder about this. My sister-in-law loves hers and has no issues. I can't imagine that my background will reveal anything:
-39 years old
-Mirena placed in Oct. 2007 (when I was 36) after 4th baby (baby was 10 months at the time) I started reacting to Mirena after 6 months (developed wrist tendonitis). No other symptoms until 2 years later when my autoimmune symptoms started (which was after recurrent strep throat - something I never had before - and many
Antibiotics which I had an allergic reaction to). My body was going haywire very suddenly and quickly. I've always felt that the strep was a major trigger in my Mirena-weakened body.
-Used the pill before and in between the other pregnancies. Started pill when I got married at 22. I had to use the lowest dosage of estrogen though (Loestrin) because I was sick otherwise. Obviously very sensitive to hormones. Had bad morning sickness with babies.
-Have never smoked or drunk alcohol. No caffeine. Diet has always been pretty good, but was high in
Sugar and bad fats (I now realize).
- I'm normal weight and never really struggled with my weight (except with Mirena, when I lost some during my bad reaction right before removal and became too thin).
- I never had PMS issues before Mirena. I couldn't tell if I was going to start my period until the day it happened. NEver noticed ovulation. Things are very different now!
- I was never the best at hard exercise, but I'm active keeping up my house and kids and haven't struggled with weight. As soon as I'm feeling good again, I'm going to start running. I crave it like I never have. My husband says I should start now, but I'm too weak, and my symptoms flare up if I even overdo it in the house.
That's it for now - sorry if that was boring!
