Re: A critical thinking exercise.
There was a pecking order the decision
passed down to use sea water instead of
the "mud" that may have worked to stem
this sort of disaster. Obviously, we
will never know now. There are certainly
recollections from workers on the rig
overhearing conversations where screaming
ensued, "there are you happy now~we told
you this would happen~!". The wonder of
it is that our government does not have
this matter under extreme scrutiny and
is now allowing the people who created
this mess to clean it up. I have literally
read hundreds of reports on this event and
more than a fair share have been from
industry insiders who claim there is NO
way that BP did not know the risks. The
bottom line was always the bazillion
gallons of oil. Not just any oil either,
but this oil is special~~

and from all appearances the responsibility
is beginning to resemble some the kind of
nonsense this video spoofs~~

When all is dead and done, there may not
be the level of incredulity that exists
now which finds housewives on beaches with
movie cameras screaming at behemoths of
power who claim they have no right to be
there. In some videos the strong arm men,
hired at great expense by BP, claim not to
even know who they work for. My understanding
also is that the current administration
has taken to circumventing scrutiny by
using private email for communicating and
holding meetings in places like Starbucks.
Well, such is the transparency of the
liars in public office. As a woman, I seem
particularly keen on spotting liars. Very
often nowadays, the liars seem to have
become proud of the lies they tell and
their ability to stand in front of the
public and let the lies trumpet from their
throats without blinking an eye.
I tend to agree with this writer, that in
the end, it will be decided, as it seems
to be now, that we do not have the "right"
to know what is going on in the Gulf~~

~~I also tend to disagree with this assessment,
and so now have to spend inordinate amounts of
time sifting through all the info those of us
who NEED, WANT, and DEMAND to know, bring to
the table. One wonders what the effect would
be if America took to the Gulf and lined the
shoulders of Interstate I-10 demanding that
the government work harder to minimize the
impact of this disaster on health and wildlife.
Heck, right now, cities have not been able to
even stem the flow of toxic waste being ferried
away from the Gulf to every little po-dunk land
fill. This stuff is so toxic, last night on CNN
some expert claimed they bagged and buried it
all, from gloves, masks, suits and even RAKES.
That statement alone is telling...and yet BP
has bought up permission from state government
to allow contractors to circumvent city law
and dump this toxic waste in their back yards.
This list of data on the oil catastrophe is no
where complete but if someone wants to play
catch-up and spend time hunting down truth,
here is a good place to start~~

If memory serves me, you are from down under
aren't you?? Like the rumors that one of the
current symptoms of concern in the Gulf of
Mexico is the rising of the seafloor, there
are rumors of the same kind of seafloor rising
in the Coral Sea. Have you heard anything about
this?? This is up on my mental bulletin board
because, in the back of my mind, I consider
that BP was doing something they have done
before BUT the difference this time was that
solar activity may have contributed to the
instability of the seabed and therein lay
the hand of fate and to our detriment, perhaps
our destruction~~
