Socialist states have a horrible track record on environmental issues, far worse than any capitalist system. Companies like BP get held in check by things like lawsuits. Socialist/communists states jut take payoffs.
It's only when the government and the corporations collude, and they seem to be doing here, that a capistalist system breaks down.
Margret Thacher got it right, eventually you run out of other people's money.
We are way to large a country for something like a modified socialist system like eruopean socialism or canada, if we become socialist, it will be like the USSR or China. We would wind up with Tiennamen square.

We are just above Tampa, we just saw the oil slick spotter flying along the coast, so this monster is heading right at us.

We are arguing politics on the edge of an ELE event, we need to fix the problem, we need a president that is willing to fix the problem, and take real action, not be a good corporate crony. Kind of Nero fiddling while Rome burned. I am home because we a doing a house repair, need to fix it before we get out of Dodge.

I think Obama is reachable, I was hopeful when he got elected, I hope that he wakes up in time and does the right thing for us all. And that is not to nationalize BP, it's to hold BP accountable. And get in there, take control of the spill sight, tell us the truth about what is gong on, and do what can be done to get people to safety.

I feel like we are surrounded by vultures, everyone wants to pick at the corpse rather than trying to help the critter survive. I rescued a hurt kitty from a group of vultures who were just waiting for it to get so weak they could peck out the eyes. Today, it's our turn in the fish barrel.

So please pray for us. If you are an athiest, just think good thoughts about the spill getting fixed, and Obama getting a brain. We lead real leadership here. There is always a way to deal with a jackpot, as long as you don't give up hope, and you do the next right thing.
