Trichinella in humans is most commonly gotten from eating or handling raw or undercooked meat, usually pork in the US. There are about 7 species, the most common in human infections is T. spiralis and it lives in muscle tissue. Put Trichinella in your browser and you will get many hits. She may not have the symptoms described if they are in limited numbers. It is a roundworm so that any parasite remedy whick kill roundworms should eliminate it.
