Ah, but you see I for one do happen to consistently read the material turned out by the Vitamin D council and I also have read a great many of the studies conducted on Vitamin D benefits.  I have also read what Marshall, Albert and Proal have turned out and, beside the fact of them being in a very, very tiny minority, I find their pick and choose writings to be more drivel by far than the Vitamin D council materials and the studies conducted by far, far more knowledgeable and qualified people than the Marshall trio.  Much of their writing appears to me to be as biased as some pharmaceutical funded studies, where they decided the outcome in advance and then proceeded to select material and excerpts to support their preconception.  In some articles I have found where they even took exerpts from articles by proponents of Vitamin D supplementation and used them out of context.

The human body will produce up to 20,000 units of Vitamin D3 daily from exposure to sunshine (but no more than that).  How then could it be dangerous for the vast majority of people to supplement at levels below that amount?  I am sure that you could again quote from the Marshall Trio, but their credibility is sorely lacking to me.

Congrats on being around CZ for such a long time.  I apologize for linking you to the Marshall gang, but you continue to hammer away at the issue and it is one that we disagree on.  The large majority is not always right, but they are more often than not - and when it comes to Vitamin D that majority is immense.  It will take a lot more than the writings of the Marshall trio to convince me otherwise.
