Okay, in the few minutes I searched, I could not find the simple explanation of God's salvation process that I wanted to find. I used to have one written out that was very good. Maybe I can find it tomorrow and post it.

In the meantime, I found another scripture guaranteeing the inheritance for believers in Christ. I've come to understand that when God guarantees something, there is no possibility of losing it. We may have to wait for it, yes, but it's still ours. If someone gave you an inheritance of a million dollars, but said you have to wait ten years for it, it's still yours right? You just have to wait ten years to get it. And with human deals like that, there is always the possibility of something going wrong with it. But this is God's deal. Nothing can go wrong with it. When He guarantees something, there is nothing going to stop it from happening.

We read in 1 Peter 1:3-4, “Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His great mercy has caused us to be born again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to obtain an inheritance which is imperishable and undefiled and will not fade away, reserved in heaven for you.”
