Re: Why man was Created--You asked for it

Monkeytime, while your ideas are common beliefs, they do not match up to what the scriptures are saying as a whole. And where scriptures seem to contradict, we need to know we are not interpreting one or both of them right. The scriptures cannot contain contradictions, or we have a problem. You are misunderstanding when we say man was created to glorify God. You are taking that to mean something negative, and that if that was true, it would diminish all the things that are good in life. But the glorification of God is a wondrous thing, too wonderful for us, as Job would put it. After God told Job all about His creations and things He had done, Job said, “Therefore have I uttered [what] I understood not; things too wonderful for me, which I knew not” (Job 42:3) God's glorification means everything works out for the good for those that love Him, and are called according to His purpose.
Romans 8:28 And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose.

What in the world do you think that scripture means? How does it add in to all that you are saying?

God knows everything. He is not waiting to see what we will do. He already knows the end from the beginning. And you can find plenty of scriptures that support what I just said.

As for the scriptures you quoted, I believe every word they say. I just do not come up with the interpretation of them that you are coming up with.

I'm going to now try to find a simple explanation for you about how God's salvation works, and how we can be saved by Him right now, be being saved by Him, and be looking forward to a complete salvation by Him, meaning given our full inheritance in Christ with our glorified bodies.
