Re: Inulin and FOS experiences?

Hi. For me, adding inulin (about 3-4 weeks ago) seems to have been an extremely positive move. My health had improved so much over the past year, but I was still getting candida flares whenever my liver would get stressed (from illness such as a cold; from eating and then having to process an allergen; from mercury release from dental procedures, for example). The flares would retreat on their own after a week or 2. Recently I changed 3 things at the same time. I completely stopped eating cashews which I had been eating a fair amount of even tho they are not supposed to be good for candida, I switched my magnesium to magnesium malate (from mag oxide and mag citrate) on the advice of Hveragherthi, and started taking pure inulin also on the advice of Hv (that man is a freaking genius, IMHO). Whether it was the cashews, the magnesium or the inulin, I feel like a normal human being now. No more flares, no allergic reactions to foods, liver functioning much more efficiently, no longer have any brain fog. I wish I had had the foresight to make these changes one at a time, but was not realizing they woudl make such a huge dif for me, I didn't bother. Now, I do not know which made the big dif, or if it was 2 or all 3 things. But, since probies need food, and I have not been one to take fiber in the past, I have my $ riding on the inulin for feeding my probies. And, I do also think I have been allergivc to cashews, but have been eating them on kind of a low frquency but constant level as a component of mixed nuts, and it always helps to get rid of an allergen.

(edited to add that I do not know if the fact that I had already overcome about 85-90% of my candida problem made any difference in how well I tolerate the inulin)
