I was just diagnosed with medullary sponge kidney yesterday. A bit of a shock to say the least. i passed a kidney stone about 5 years ago, but i got pain again 3 weeks ago which had the same eeeerie feel as i did then. took myself off to hospital where i was told i had a UTI... (like i haven't heard that before...). i asked to have a CT scan where it showed 4 stones. 2 in my right kidney, one in my left, and one floating down a tube from my kidney. saw the specialist yesterday and he informed me of my sponge kidney diagnosis.
obviously a change of life is needed. i was also told that i have a vitamin b12 deficiency, folic acid deficiency and an iron deficiency...
i guess i want to ask anyone who may know about vitamins. do i need calcium supplements as well? i wanted to do a detox, but i'm worried about any side affects it may cause. i've tried a 14 day detox a year ago and i felt fantastic. i had to take tablets and i want to do the same one but of course i'm wary.
does anyone have any suggestions to offer??
Thanks heaps :)
