Re: sick, isolated and lacking hope
Thanks Hv,
Unfortunately oat bran and rice bran don’t sit too well. The oat bran resulted in nausea and gas last time I had some and the nutty, sweetness of the rice bran also didn’t sit too well.
In fact anything moderately sweet or pungent whether it’s fruits or say store bought sauerkraut sends my mouth and saliva into overdrive. No doubt at least in part dealing with a psychological response. Bland food seems to be the safest option.
Will consider the kefir and ‘sent the troops into the warzone!’. I’m sensitive to dairy but have read kefir may be tolerated. If I were to try an alternative, would the coconut milk in tins be suitable? They look fairly cheap and cheerful with questionable ingredients such ‘coconut extract’, stabilizers and thickeners, e.g. carboxy methyl cellulose and xantham gum. Sounds like ingredients more at home in a laboratory than my body...
I mentioned that amla and acerola are not readily available but I have rosehips, nettle leaf and camu camu, although you’ve mentioned about the stability of camu camu. Would you still opt for rosehips and nettle leaf over camu camu? Would half a tea spoon a few times a day be sufficient?
I also have (not yet taking) artichoke, dandelion root, milk thistle seed, marshmallow root, turmeric, ashwaganda, schisandra, slippery elm and liquorice powders. I feel sensitive to even mild spices and nightshades so unfortunately turmeric and ashwagandha are off the menu. What would be the next best thing for stimulating bile, detoxification and encouraging solid bowel movements? The bitters I have are gentian and bupleurum and as mentioned have a questionable effect on me, although with so much going on its difficult pinpointing changes to my bowel habits. Guess I could go slow perhaps every other day with just a dab on the tongue.
My digestion really struggles in late eve, resulting in gnawing, bloating and abdominal ache at any first sign of food. Is there anything you can recommend for this? As a result I feel like a certain amount of gas makes its way into my bowels.
Also I had significant intestinal gas resulting in abdominal aches and cramps yesterday day time. Not until the gas was released and a watery loose stool was passed did I experience any relief. Is anything useful for this gas build up? Are/can high amounts of gas be responsible for breaking up and changing the consistency of stools?
Many thanks,
